We manage all aspects of benefit plans for our clients.
These services include, but are not limited to:
- Plan financial review and analysis
- Custom employee communication
- Contract analysis
- Legislative updates, analysis and implementation
- Services support for claim and access issues
- Face-to-face meetings to monitor effectiveness of program and develop strategies
and tactics to address emerging issues
In order to be able to make appropriate recommendations; we need to understand
client needs. In order to facilitate this process, we collect qualitative and quantitative information to establish what you
expect from your benefit program.
As your consultant, we collect:
- Financial and practical objectives of the employee benefit program
- Data from existing benefits vendors
- Vendor rate history
- Employee survey data (if available)
Once data is collected, we review the performance of the current program and
compare it to your objectives. We review industry trends and innovations to determine if any new applications will close any
gaps. Together, we create a plan and a way to measure and monitor its performance.
A unique service we offer is a benefit plan comparative analysis.
We compare our client’s benefit data to that of plan sponsors in similar locations, industries and size. Having this
data helps our clients look for industry and geographical trends that may affect how they design their program.
Contracts
Contract review is an important part of managing a benefit plan. Vendors can
fall out of compliance with provisions of their own documents or that necessary amendments have not been made to comply with
legislation. It is important to evaluate contract language to ensure legislative and procedural compliance.
We also prepare RFPs for consideration by Third Party Administrators (TPAs)
managed care and insurance vendors. We understand and have participated in the underwriting process. The data we provide vendors
ensure the most accurate proposals for our clients.
Employee Communication
Several studies confirm that, when employees are well informed about their
employee benefit plan, the plan runs better and employee satisfaction relating to the plan is higher.
An important part of our service is our member communication and education.
We design, plan and implement health fairs, payroll communications, brochures
and on-site meetings. We make ourselves available to provide information to your employees that will:
- Optimize utilization of your benefit programs
- Increase employee appreciation of your benefits program
- Inform covered families of the value of wellness programs
Underwriting
As medical costs continue to increase at a rate greater than inflation, it
is important that your consultant understands the mechanics of managed care and group insurance underwriting.
Although TPAs, managed care organizations and insurance companies are entitled
to make a fair profit, we believe that consultants that have actual carrier underwriting experience are most effective
in obtaining a favorable result. We have carrier underwriting experience at CBC.
As carriers reduce resources available to their clients to control costs,
careless errors result in inaccurate renewals and seldom favor the plan sponsor. We review all financial exhibits thoroughly
in order to obtain the best possible result.
